Things I am obsessed with.

Well. Here is some music I can't get enough of lately. It started out as just random songs, but then I realized that a few of the bands had two songs each, so I decided to make them all like that - five bands, two songs each. Most of them I've posted about before but you know how great it feels to listen to a song a ton of times and then suddenly discover how awesome it is? Yeah. That's the case with a lot of these and I can't help posting them. Anyway, without further ado...
I've been really into them lately, which I think I mentioned when I posted "Walk on the Moon" as song of the day awhile ago. "Nefi+Girly" is one of those songs that slipped by me at first but it suddenly captured my attention when it came up on shuffle; I think that was actually what triggered my sudden re-love with them. I love the one line, "Disconnect the feeling factory/Put your tongue up to my battery" - it doesn't really make much sense but it sounds interesting and beautiful anyway. "Mizu Asobi" is just terribly fun and bouncy and I can't help wanting to sing along despite the fact that I am completely clueless in the Japanese language.
This band is not really completely unique or groundbreaking, but they have good songs, though the main draw, for me, is Juliet's voice. It is very rough and ragged and sometimes quite painful sounding but still beautiful. I just love it when she gets really intense and raspy. "The Answer" is extremely catchy and some of the vocals in "Unhearted" serve as a very good example of what I just tried to describe. This won't be appealing to everyone (though, of course, nothing is) but it's worth a listen anyway. (Though "Hush" is better than both of these songs and you can find that in a post from a few months ago through their tag.)
I'm not quite sure of my final verdict here yet - I adore about half of Fur and Gold but only mildly like the rest so far but that's not really important... What is important is that these two songs are completely incredible. I find "Trophy" extremely sexy and sultry, particularly the chorus, "Heaven is a feeling I get in your arms". And "Bat's Mouth" is just gorgeous - it takes a bit to really build up to its full potential, but once it does, it's stunning. Natasha's voice is lovely and beautiful and versatile, etc.
First of all, this whole album is brilliant and I don't understand people who say it is a disappointment. It's more straight-forward and overtly catchy than the previous two, yes, but no less memorable and enjoyable. But I am a bit biased because I personally think pretty much everything Andy does is awesome at this point. Anyway... "Night Vision" is haunting, sparse, dark and I get goosebumps every time during the first "I hide what you show" part where the subtle electronic effect kicks in; it's so perfectly executed. And "Dark Light Daybreak" is very catchy but moody and atmospheric and the chorus never fails to get stuck in my head for awhile after I listen to it.
