Bright Eyes - Drunk Kid Catholic

Bright Eyes - Drunk Kid Catholic
( LYRICS )
I've been trying to listen through all of the Bright Eyes songs I have that I haven't touched yet and this one has been a highlight. At first, I thought it sounded nice but wasn't particularly special but then the last part caught me off guard ("They crawl from the oceans/To paint in the caves/But I'm working all weekend/I need to get paid") and I thought it was really awesome. Most of Conor's songs have depressing music to go with the depressing lyrics but the melody of this is very sing-songy, almost like a children's song or something, which I think is why I was so surprised by the ending that first time - it sounds so cheerful but it's obviously not if you know Bright Eyes. I also like the employment of a few different vocalists - Conor sings the first two parts and the next one is apparently sung by Todd Fink of the Faint and then for good measure, one or two female vocalists are added to the mix (I could speculate on who that is but I'd probably be wrong and I don't have a reliable source to refer to).
