Meg & Dia - Monster (acoustic)
His little whispers
"Love me, love me"
That's all I ask for
"Love me, love me"
He battered his tiny fists to feel something
Wondered what it's like to touch, to feel something
Monster
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here
Looking through the windows
That night he caged her
Bruised and broke her
He struggled closer
Then he stole her
Violet wrists and then her ankles, silent pain
Then he slowly saw their nightmares were his dreams
Monster
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here
Looking through the windows
I will
Hear their voices
I'm a glass child
I am Hannah's regrets
Monster
How should I feel?
Turn the sheets down
Murder ears with pillow lace
There's bath tubs
Full of glow flies
Bathe in kerosene
Their words tattooed in his veins
"Love me, love me"
That's all I ask for
"Love me, love me"
He battered his tiny fists to feel something
Wondered what it's like to touch, to feel something
Monster
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here
Looking through the windows
That night he caged her
Bruised and broke her
He struggled closer
Then he stole her
Violet wrists and then her ankles, silent pain
Then he slowly saw their nightmares were his dreams
Monster
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here
Looking through the windows
I will
Hear their voices
I'm a glass child
I am Hannah's regrets
Monster
How should I feel?
Turn the sheets down
Murder ears with pillow lace
There's bath tubs
Full of glow flies
Bathe in kerosene
Their words tattooed in his veins
I seem to have a thing for acoustic versions of songs lately. And my Zune seems to have a thing for this song specifically; I swear it plays every time I shuffle. So, therefore, I've grown quite fond of it as well. I'm not a really huge fan of theirs (yet) but they're pretty good and I like this version a lot better than the album one. The lyrics are pretty dark and I think the more stripped-down, fragile approach to it works really well. Also, Dia's voice sounds really beautiful. So, I guess if playing it all the time was some sinister plan to get me to like it, it worked like magic.
