New Orenda Fink

Orenda Fink's second solo album, Ask the Night, is set for release on October 6th, and Saddle Creek has posted the first taste of it, "High Ground", up on its page at their store. I wasn't sure what to expect from this album as I've always enjoyed Maria Taylor's solo stuff more than Orenda's and her other release this year, the collaboration O+S, I found pretty forgettable apart from a few songs. I was instantly smitten with this new track, though, and I was mostly disappointed in Maria's newest album so let's hope the second half of Azure Ray can offer up a solid release this year. But with involvement from my musical boyfriend Andy LeMaster (Now It's Overhead) and the always lovely Adrianne Verhoeven (ex-The Anniversary and Art in Manila, another of Orenda's 3059825092 musical endeavors), I honestly don't see how it can go wrong. If you want to pre-order the album, make sure to do so through the Saddle Creek webstore - it'll be shipped two weeks earlier, which will actually already be next Tuesday! Awesome, right?
